On the question "Did this parent Leave Canada for more than 1 year before 1977?".
My Dad left Canada in 1937 we think at 4 years old and moved to the UK. He never lived in Canada again, he visit on holidays a couple of times.
Should I answer Yes, left in 1939 ??, ??, UK

My guess is that prior to 1977, there were numerous ways one could have involuntarily and unknowingly lost their citizenship, such as obtaining another citizenship through naturalization or marriage, or their parents obtaining another citizenship; it is possible that these people did not get their citizenship restored during the 2009 and 2015 Acts. In your case though, it should not have any effect on your application because your father was born in Canada, and you are the first generation born abroad.
