I went to Greece in 2000 I met my wife there and we got married we are living in Greece ever since. We have been married now for almost 3 years and we are having a baby. I will register the baby at the embassy and it will receive Canadian citizen ship.
My question is, will my wife and baby be able to live with me in Canada while the PR papers are being processed?
Also, because of the economic situation in Greece, I have worked very little and my financial situation is bad. Do i have to show the government my financial situation because we will have a child then.
Nope income is not a requirement for spousal sponsorship, and if you look there are so many threads on her asking the same thing. If you go on the Canada Immigration website under visit it will tell you exactly what the requirements are for a visitor.
Even though Greece is a visa exempt country the requirements are the same at the POE.Its just you dont have to apply for a visa.
Your baby certainly can, since he/she will be a Canadian citizen. Your wife can probably come stay with you as well. She should say she is visiting Canada when they ask her purpose at the border; she should not say she is coming to Canada to live. Once in, she can extend her stay while you wait.
Also, because of the economic situation in Greece, I have worked very little and my financial situation is bad. Do i have to show the government my financial situation because we will have a child then.
You don't need a job or an income to sponsor your wife. Nevertheless you have to provide evidence of your financial situation in the sponsorship application. You will also have to provide proof you are planning to go back to Canada.
Congratulations on the baby, and welcome to the forum!
