anyone with Indian passport recently applied for Canada transit visa ? For their flight to/ from USA? I would like to know -
1. typical Processing times .. I applied 16 days back, but there has been no update to my application.
2. Are biometrics required for individuals with Indian passport ?
3. Any contact information that I can reach out for the status of my transit visa application? My flight is in 12 days..

1. Posted processing times are 30 days so you've cut it a bit close and it's hard to say if you will have the visa in time.
2. You should not need biometrics if you are traveling to the US and have a US visa.
3. There isn't really. You can't expedite the process. Unfortunately nothing you can really do but wait.

When I submitted the application, the processing time was 15 days on iirc website … today marks the end of 15 days, so I was checking and no updates to my application..

As of today, the processing time shows as 26 days !

what are my options in this case ?

You can try to raise a Webform and see if that helps. If you can modify your tickets, fly directly to US east coast or west it doesn't matter. its much easier.

The only option is to wait. The processing times are only estimates (not guaranteed processing times) and regularly fluctuate due to application volumes.

You can also consider changing your flight to one that doesn't connect through Canada.
