Hello Folks,
I am planning to apply for Canada PR under FSW category for this year , 2014 once the quota begins in May.
Can you please let me know if I need to go through an immigration firm or Can we apply by ourself independently with instructions posted in CIC ?
The immigration firms I checked with are demanding huge fees and its costing around $4000 if I go with them .
Please let me know if there will be any benefit and if its worth spending such huge amount with the immigration firm ? Thanks
Also, I don't have an arranged employment offer. I am planning to file under the NOC2174 Category for Computer Programmers.
I am working on gathering the docs for ECA and also preparing for my IELTS exam.
You can apply on your own - you don't need a representative.
FYI - there is a good chance CIC will not reopen the FSW occupation list this year and will wait until 2015 and the introduction of EOI.

This is a pretty straight forward process and the guides are quite articulate. You don't need a lawyer. I managed on my own and have just got the visa stamped.
