Hi All;

Can someone please enlighten me. I'm a currently working and residing in Canada with the hopes of making it my home whilst I'm here my boyfriend would like to come and visit me however; we are not too sure if he can as he was deported 7 years ago from the USA after serving time in prison for drug related offences. Since returning to his country of birth he has changed his life around he's working for a very reputable company (who can vouch for his character); he hasn't been in trouble with the law (a police check can prove it) and he's been raising his daughter as a single father, also he's got skills that Canada both need and want as he's a long-haul truck driver. We've been together for 2.5 years and plan to marry however; we just want to know if it is possible for him to visit and if he likes it for him and my future step-daughter to join me here in Canada and for us to make it our home?

Thanks;

Alaoma. ;D

As 5 years have passed since the end of his sentence, he would have to apply for rehabilitation to enter Canada as either an Emigrant or visitor. See: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/rehabil.asp
