Hello,

Let me explain my situation and my future plans and also ask you if its possible to do this

I'm from Bosnia and Herzegovina, when i finished high-school i paused a year and didn't go to any college because i couldn't make up my mind on what to study. I always wanted to go abroad for college one way or another, especially to Canada, but with my economical situation i just couldn't do that because i simply don't have the money required to study abroad. So know i am thinking about actually going to a college here for 1 year and then transferring to Canada. I don't even know if that's possible so if someone can clear that up that'd be great.

Also considering i cant afford to fully pay for my studies, i was thinking that if i get good grades in 1 year of college here, would it be easier for me to get scholarships or financial aid when i apply to a Canadian uni? Also i heard that begging from next year international students can work without waiting 6 months so that helps, and i am willing to work.

Lastly a hypothetical question, lets say i finish the first year of college here with flying marks. Would it be possible to get scholarships/financial aid to completely cover my tuition? And would it be possible to fund my studies completely by myself?

I would very appreciate a detailed answer because this is all i can think about now and its very important to me.

Thanks in advance

edit: also i forgot to say that I'm very good with English, i got 98 out of 120 points on my TOEFL test, if that matters

You can apply for a transfer. I dont know much about financial aid but you may get some, certainly not enough to cover everything though.

Keep in mind that you have to satisfy immigration that you have enough funds. You cant say that you plan to work to cover some of it.

Hi,
I don't think they will allow you to transfer credits from college in home country.
Try to apply in province like Newfoundland, Saskatchewan and Manitoba , where the Tuition fees are less.
