Hi. Can you do volunteer work while an application for Canadian Permanent Residence is in process?
If not what if one has a Live in care giver work permit but wants to do volunteer work that is not care giver related?

Yes, you can, if it is truly volunteer work, in that no one doing that job is normally paid.
