I just landed at the US border, and waiting for my PR card, which is going to take probably two months or longer. I have to go back to China by the end of this month, am I able to coming back by using COPR? How come it says: not valid for travel?
Assuming you are not from a visa exempt country, you will need a travel document.
Your alternative is to fly into the US and cross the border in a private vehicle, in which case you can use your COPR
NOPE!
you should have either your pr card or travel document with you when you enter canada again.
CoPR can be used but only when youre travelling between US and canada with non-commercial vehicle.

You need to apply for a Travel Document (Permanent Resident Abroad)

And I wonder why did not wait until returning back from the China for landing purposes...
The best case scenario for you was to land on your way back to canada after your trip.
But it's too late for that now and there's nothing you can do.
You'd have to apply for a travel document while you're visiting your home country,
however it also depends on how long you'll be staying.
So here are your options for now:
1. Postpone your trip so you can travel with your PR card.
2. Go to your home country as you initially planned. Apply for a travel document as soon as you get there and stay there until you receive your travel document.
Well, I don't know how long you're staying but it looks like the processing time is around 4 weeks.
