Can someone enlighten me on what "implied status" really means?

a visitor's visa is for people who need to travel TO canada, so if you are already IN canada it is assumed you have a visa already (either visitor, work or student) and there would be no reason to apply for another one. people who are already IN canada on a visa can not apply for a visitor's visa since they are already IN canada. If their visa is expired, then they need to apply to extend their stay.
implied status means you are in canada and you have applied to extend your current visa or applied for the OWP and you are waiting on the decision from CIC. so if you are already IN canada, is your current visitor's visa valid? are you here on another type of visa? have you applied for inland PR and attached the OWP with your application?
I am in the awkward situation my post secondary work permit expired at the end of May.I am now under the implied status and waiting for response which is possibly coming at the end of July and will probably be " NO " as no LMIA.
I just submitted my EOI and has 790 point and waiting for the draw. And I am currently married. But eithe by MPNP or SCLPC the applicant need to maintain legal status. That is why I am thinking whether switching to visitor visa would help.
I will be out of status soon and desperately looking for advice wonder what option I have , please help me. I really need some suggestions. Help !

I would recommend applying to extend your stay as a visitor, and submitting proof of your intentions to apply for spousal PR. spousal PR applicants are rarely denied extension requests, and this will give you a bit of a buffer to figure out your work visa situation. you may need to apply for restoration of status along with the extension.
