Hi,
I understand that CIC will accept 8000 new applications under cec for the duration may 2014 to april 2015. Current cap status is 128/8000. They will not stop accepting applications after launching canadian express immigration in jan until april unless the cap reached 8k. Can some one please tell me if my understanding is wrong.
its from may 1st 2014 to december 31 2014 because as of january 2015 the express entry model will start and therefore new measures and rules will be in place....as of now no one knows exactly beside what have been published in www.cic.gc.ca.
good luck.
According to the ministerial instructions the cap is until April 30. Elsewhere, it says these are the "last applications ... before Express Entry launches in January 2015" (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/cec/applications-accepted.asp).
It's not really clear to me how both these things can be true at once, but I feel that the cap will probably be filled before the end of the year anyway.
(These are the last applications we will accept under the current system before Express Entry launches in January 2015) this is very clear,i am not sure what are you trying to explain here or do you just like to argue for the sake of arguing.
the ministerial instructions for CEC,FSW,FST,PNP are all from april until december this year under current system, its an exception AGAIN due to the launch of new system next january.
this does not apply to QSW though because they monitor their own immigration system.

We don't really know what's going to happen with the new express entry in 2015. Most of us were under the impression that the caps for the economic immigration streams would not be reset in anticipation of the Express entry in 2015 and look how that turned out, they reset it after all! Maybe express entry will start in January 2015, maybe it won't. No one, except the Immigration folks, know for sure. We will have to wait until 2015 to see what happens.
In the meantime, aspiring PR applicants must apply as soon as they are eligible and just pray for the best
