We applied for my husband's PR two months ago. There is a company who is willing to hire him and go through with the paperwork. Now, I know that he could have applied for an open work permit, which would allow him to work after the first stage of approval (or at least that's my understanding). But what if there is a job offer, which is not for a skilled worker position but for a general labour position? Would Canadian Immigration receive the paperwork the company sends out for him and deny him because he has PR pending? I actually don't know much about the process other than the company said they've done it before and are willing to do it for him. However, when they did it before, I think it was for someone who had temporary residence.
So to sum this up, is he allowed to work before the first stages of approval if he has a job offer?
