Can my aunt in BC, who is a citizen, sponsor me under family class if she's on pension? She was a nurse who had an accident a few years back at work and was advised by doctors that she isn't fit to work anymore (she had a back injury) though she isn't disabled in a sense that she's not on wheelchair or anything and she looks pretty normal.
If you want immediate answers - hire a lawyer. If you want free advice - you will need to learn to wait and not be so rude to those who can offer you free advice.
It's unlikely your aunt can sponsor you. Does she have a husband or children or sisters / brothers? If the answer is yes to any of these questions they she cannot sponsor you.
Forgive me but i didn't have the slightest intention to be rude to any one, or to make anyone feel that way. I simply said no one was ever answering because it's true. I've had 4 posts 2 weeks ago and never did I get a single reply. And sorry for saying but I also felt that you're the one being rude to me by telling me to get a lawyer.
I appreciate your reply. Sorry and sorry in advance to anyone who might find my comment rude, I didn't mean it that way.
And to answer your question, No. my aunt doesn't have children nor spouse. But she has siblings who are all above the age of 40.
Hello, i understand your frustration and will try to help.
From my experience, your aunt cannot sponsor you if:
1. If she has a living spouse, she has living children, she has living parents, or if she has any relatives living in the country.
2. If she cannot afford the required financial requirement for sponsorship (which includes all the application fees and proof of her financial ability to support you for a specific amount of years even after your arrival. That amount of years is determined by the Embassy).
even if the aunt has siblings - once those siblings (or any other relatives) are not living in the same country as she is, and she meets the other requirements, she can sponsor.

it's okay. I'm not here to argue. was just trying to assist based on my experience scylla. The only difference in the family experience that i had was that the sponsor was gainfully employed and not on pension. The family i know, their sponsorship was successful.

Thank you K25... I appreciate your kind assistance I will just ask my aunt to speak to a lawyer in Canada and hopefully she can find out for sure whether or not she can sponsor me.
