I have a friend who is applying for Canada Study Permit. She has one years of gap because of a medical condition. She had to stay in a hospital for a long time for her recovery. Since many told gap years would affect the chances of visa, I suggested her to include medical report in her documents as she had included the problem in her SOP. But a consultant suggested not to include that report telling the Visa Officer wouldn't review the report. What do you suggest?
A gap year in itself is not usually an issue as long as all other criteria are met however might depend on whether a medical is required for the study permit.
