Hi.

I am from Chile, I have my Study Permit approved on April 6, 2020, and I started the study of my AEC online since May 2020, due to the contingency of COVID-19.

Obviously I have my CAQ and LOA from College, since my intention was to travel to Montreal last April, together with my wife, who has her Work Permit and our 2 children.

I understand that I cannot travel because the border restriction indicates that only those who have their Study Permit approved before March 18 can travel.

Do you have any information on whether I can travel anyway?
Or do you know if Canada is close to changing that restriction?

Thank you very much.

Hector

Looks like you've answered your question.

Yes, but i need if you have more information, that eventually agree the travel with my family to Montreal as soon as possible.

I have all my documentation ready (study permit approved April 6th. and my wife Work Permit approved June 23th.)

Thanks.

If you can enter the US you can do so and then attempt to cross into Canada. Anyone, including non US nationals, coming through the US does not have to have his study permit approved before March 18.

Thanks for the information!

Anyone knows if Canada will modify the "March 18th" restriction? It's a big problem for the students that we are studying online since May 2020.

As of now no, they won't and I have not heard of any plans yet to modify this...

Thanks for the information!

No one here knows if or when this will happen.

Are you still studying only online or is there an in person component? Does your wife and children have special permission to travel to Canada since they currently need it to travel.

Hi.
I have a letter from my College, about the 20% of classes in person component, and CO-OP (in the next months).

My wife has a Open Work Permit approved on June 2020. Does she will get better options to enter in Canada if she has a job offer?

I understand that our children doesn't need any special special permission if we will travel together. They will have a Visitor Record.

Thanks!
