Can I travel after applying under CEC?

Hello guys,

I applied under CEC in September 2014. I am still waiting for the AOR although my credit card was charged on Nov 6th, 2014. Now I plan to travel to India for 3 weeks in February to see my parents.

My question is does it make a difference if I travel to India now? Do I have to notify CIC about my travel?

I went to India last year too before I applied and had mentioned that in my travel form while applying. I tried googling a bit but couldn't find any clear answers.

Oh thanks. You mean I can just travel with a valid visa without any need to inform the CIC and all?

I applied in September 2014 as well and have not received AOR. And I just came back from New York last week. Was out of Canada for 6 days. No issues when coming back to Canada and I did not inform CIC.
