Waiting for new LMO/LMIA (renewal)

Hi all,
I need help and advice. My work permit will expire this December 2, 2014 and my renewal is on process. There is still no result if my new LMO/LMIA is approved. We sent our application for my new LMIA last August. Should I stop working and wait for my new LMIA & work permit or can I still continue working?
Thanks so much.
Agie
You can continue working provided your new work permit application is submitted before your old one expires.
Thanks for your reply scylla.
I did the LMO last year right before my work permit expire as well.
I was told, I can continue working as long as I applied for the extension on my current work permit before my old one expire. However, until two weeks before my old work permit expires, I still have not received my positive LMO. What I had to do was to apply for the new work permit anyways and includes a letter saying, I am still awaiting my LMO results and will mail in my LMO results as soon as I get them.
If I understood (remembered) right, you must have a new application in place before your old one expires. Even if you were still waiting for your LMO results.
You might want to follow up with the LMO application, I got mine in about 6 weeks. And I did it through a legal representative.
