Can I stay 2 weeks in Canada if I was deported from the US?

Hello there,

I'm asking this for a Mexican friend who got deported from the US for illegal work.

I'm French and we would like to stay 2 weeks only in Canada and then go to France. Will my friend have any problems going there? Knowing we will have the ticket to France and a proof we're leaving the Canada.

If the deportation was recent, there is little chance of him being allowed entry.

Your friend needs an eTA if s/he intends to fly to Canada. S/he needs to declare the US deportation in the eTA
