I have plan to sponsor my parents in future. I got my PR in 2021. I have filed income taxes for past many years with sufficient income. Considering the current situation with parents sponsorship taking too long, it's hard to tell when I can get lucky and be chosen to sponsor them. Hopefully in next 10 years.
However, I also plan to move to USA to work next year and plan declare non-resident for income tax purpose to CRA. My question is if I become a non-resident, does it make me not eligible to sponsor since I won't be having notice of assessment with enough income from CRA?

The program is meant to reunite a small percentage of people that live in Canada who want to sponsor their parents/grandparents. There aren’t any guarantees that people will be selected and the program may need to change given our ageing population and shortage of health resources. You probably shouldn’t put your life on hold because you may be able to sponsor your parents eventually.
