I am considering applying for work in Canada as a US Citizen and I am pretty sure I can obtain an offer, due to many openings in the field I work in.
My biggest issue is my spouse. We have been married for 4 years and live in the US. He has a record of:
-Being removed at US/Mexico border for illegal entry
-Currently living undocumented in the US for 10+ years
-A recent wet reckless conviction from December 2014 that he is currently on probation for, having just finished up his alcohol awareness class and community service.
If I obtain a job offer for myself, will my spouse be able to also come to Canada with me, or will he be denied due to either of the above or both? Is there any way to apply for a waiver or TRP for him?
I would forget about Canada unless you are willing to go alone. It's not an option for you at this time if you want to take your spouse (maybe in a few more years once he's no longer inadmissible and has fixed his status in the US). Sorry.
He's inadmissible to Canada for 5 years from the time he completes the probation he's on now. So it's going to be at least 2020 before he can enter Canada.
TRPs are only granted to those who have extenuating circumstances and a strong need to be in Canada. Examples would be a terminally ill parent in Canada they want to visit. Accompanying a spouse who is coming to Canada as a foreign worker won't qualify. On top of that - he also has no status in the US which means there's really no chance Canada is going to grant him any kind of temporary visa to enter Canada.
