Hello! I need some advice. I have a work permit valid until the 4th July, I am waiting for the new one, have been told it will still take a couple of weeks. I need to go to the US for a couple of days next week, and have been told it would be ok to re-enter with my valid V-1 visa (valid until 2016). Is this true? Would they let me re-enter with the v-1 even if my work permit expires on July 4th?
I think you can, albeit by land. If you want to re-enter by plane or sea, pre-boarding agents shall ask for the work permit, otherwise they may delay or disallow boarding.
