Hi,
I got AOR in September under EE-PNP and planning to get married in May. I was wondering if I can call/ email CIC and put my application on hold and resume it later after adding in spouse? I understand my points will drop. Not sure of this is a right option considering spousal sponsorship taking for ever.
You cannot put it on hold, CIC will process it at their own pace. What you can do is schedule your 'landing' to some date AFTER you get married in case your application is finalized before May - this way your spouse can be added to your existing application.
I am trying to figure out what the scenario will be.
- I get PPR
- send my passport (or related document)
- Receive something that would help me in landing
- Notify CIC that I am getting married in May 1st week and ask them to extend my landing validity period to sometime mid May
- upon ack, gather all the documents for fiancé (future spouse) like PCC, ECA etc
- Get married in May and have the marriage certificate
- Notify CIC regarding change in status and request to add a dependent
- Add her documents
- Do my landing after
Please advise if I missed anything in here
Thanks,
