Hi all!
So I'm an outland US applicant by spousal sponsorship that just received CoPR in the mail. ;D My wife is a Canadian citizen, so we applied with both of us in the US and demonstrated intention to move back to Canada (she just got a job there to start summertime)
But the visa deadline is sooner than I expected. I thought I wouldn't be getting my CoPR until months from now -- it came much earlier than expected. My wife and I aren't planning to move until about Sept, but the deadline for entry is Sept 1. I don't want to cut it that close, in case something in the US delays me a few days before I can make it up to Canada for our permanent move.
So question: can I drive to a land border crossing now (we live in NY state, about 4 hours from the closest border), land, and then immediately turn around the come back to the US?
On a related note: can I land at a Quebec land border crossing if I'm not (and my visa states I'm not) settling in QC? (In fact, we are going to SK.)
Thanks all!
