Hi, I am enrolled in the University of The Fraser Valley, BC. My sister lives in Montreal and has offered me to stay with her for the first term. It suits me as well since my entire course is online. I plan to then move to Vancouver in December 2021. Will I be able to directly land in Montreal?
Also, would I need any additional documentation?
What program are you enrolling for? A FT degree/diploma or a shorter program which can be done online? If it's the former are you not supposed to be on campus and attend in person classes?
The immigration officer may have questions for you if your campus is in a different city.

If your fall term is online then you should check with your uni what their advisory is about students travelling at this point. Plus, the border officer logically may want to know why you are headed to Montreal and not Vancouver

As you mentioned, it is important to research students arriving while their program is online. Provided OP has enrolment letter and meet admission entry to Canada, doing online program from other location shouldn't be an issue. It can be cost saving...
