Can I have a Family Class application while studying in Canada?

Hi all,

I'm taking a 1 year diploma program in Canada this March. May I know if my Canadian uncle can put in an application for Family Class while I am still studying? My intent is that I hope to get PR right after my studies and after the 1 year postgraduate work permit I'll be taking after the program.

Your uncle can only sponsor you if he has no spouse/common-law partner, no kids, no Canadian citizen/PR family members and both his parents are dead.

Your uncle can only sponsor you if he has no spouse/common-law partner, no kids, no Canadian citizen/PR family members and both his parents are dead.

Aside from a cousin, he has no spouse, no kids and both his parents are dead. Can he still sponsor me while studying, given that circumstance?
