Can I go back to my home country for visit (Please Read)

My wife was the principal applicant for refugee and protected person. I am with my wife and kids in Canada and go PR this year.

Basically it was due to her who had the life threat back at home so we applied for protected persons here.

Then we applied for PR and I was the principal applicant for PR as I filled all the paper work.

My question is will I be able to go for a short visit? As I couldnt go back before PR when my father died and now I have to see my mother which i havent in last 6 years.

Please guide me ASAP.
