Can i get a car with L License in BC ?

Good day all,

I live in BC. I currently own a learners license (L). Is it legal to get a car and insure it with L ? I'm buying car to practice for road test and once pass the test I will keep it.
My colleague who has class 5 will be guiding me during practice.

Please let me know if I can go ahead and get one.

Yes, but you can’t drive alone! As you said, a class 5 driver should always be with you while driving so it’s fine!

Regarding insurance - my friend (class 5 guy) is not willing to link with my insurance.
Is it okay if I'm the only person who can hold the insurance with L ?
