Pre-Assessed..
Hello!

I am graduating this summer, and I've decided to further pursue my studies on the master level. A particular master program that I would like to apply to only has January admission, meaning that I have to wait for the January 2016 intake, by which time my study permit will be expired for one month.

So here come my questions:
1) Is it possible for me to submit my extension application 30 days before my study permit expires (as required by the CIC) -- even if by that time I may not receive my admission offer yet?
2) If I cannot extend my study permit without an admission offer, what are my other options? In particular, what temporary stay visa(s) can I apply for in order to stay in Canada legally while waiting for my admission decision?

Any input is appreciated! Thank you for reading my thread :D

Ask the school if you meet the admission requirements to issue you a conditional letter of acceptance. Condition being: "that upon completion of your undergraduate degree requirements, you are accepted into the Masters program".

If this is not possible, you can remain in Canada on a post graduate work permit and can apply for a study permit when you have your school's acceptance letter. You can have both a post graduate work permit and study permit at the same time.

Please note that you are only eligible to apply for a post graduate work permit once in a life time so make your plans accordingly if you need to obtain work experience for a permanent residence application in the future.

Good luck

Cheers
