Can I do the landing without my child ?

Hi Folds,

I received my passport, and my wife and I want to go to the border to complete our process. However, we were wondering if we could do the landing without our son. Our son was born in Canada - and I sent an email to the CIC with his birth certificate, but he doesn't have a passport. Should I go to the border without him and complete the landing ? or should I wait until his canadian passport arrives and then go to the border ?
