Hi ,

I got my COPR but due to covid situation i am unable to travel. Can i get my SIN number online before landing by using the online option? Can i give my overseas address so that mail gets delivered to me.

No you should be in Canada.

You have to complete your landing and become a PR before you are eligible to apply for a SIN number.

Are you not in Canada? Did you get landing for inland applicants Where you get COPR directly? If so you must send in a webform indicating you are not in Canada.

You need a proof of address with your name on it. Like a lease document with your name on it

Hi all, I have done a soft landing in Canada recently and plan to return to my country on the 15th day of my arrival. Given that I don't plan to shift to Canada immediately, i will not be working here and will not need the health insurance. In such a case, can I apply for SIN once I move here permanently (in 2021). All service canada centers are closed now and to apply online you need a proof of address
