But if I want to get my eTA based on my Study Permit, I need to upload a letter of enrolment for next semester (which I don't have, as I won't be student any more).
I have a 6-month post-doc contract beginning in January. Under implied status (without eTA) I can stay and work in Canada, but I cannot leave country, is this right?
Any advice?

1. I am wondering how eTA is related to your study permit. All you need a passport that shows you are a TRV exempted.
2. If you are from a TRV exempt country, you can leave/enter Canada on an implied status.

I dont want to confuse you but as far as i heard ,a study permit becomes invalid 90 days after your study program has been completed. Your program is considered complete when you receive a notification of program completion from your school(http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/5552ETOC.asp). obviously if you have applied for PGWP you already received that completion of your program confirmation. So make sure you are in the 90 days period still(regardless of what your permit says).
