hello everyone, I sent my citizenship application on Sept 5th. My PR Card will expire in Sept 2018. As per CIC website I can apply 9 months before expiry of PR card. My question is can I apply for PR card renewal while I have also applied for citizenship. Would it affect the citizenship application in anyway.
Yes. You can apply for PR renewal while citizenship in in process. It has no affect on your citizenship process. If you get to oath before getting your new PR card, you can give them your current PR card. CIC will cancel your new PR card once they get your updated status that you are citizen.
