Hi I have a job and want to wait one year to get the year experience requirement but my concern is:
I studied 2 years but combining 2 post graduate programs from George Brown College... so I have the 2 years requirement but I dont know if I can still apply if they were one in 2009 and one 2011 , Can I still apply under CEC?
f you want to apply based on your Canadian credentials, you must complete either:
- a full-time Canadian post-secondary educational program of at least two years or
- a one-year Master’s program (certificates and diplomas cannot be counted) and an additional year of education, obtained in Canada, before admission into the one-year program (for a total of two years).
Clear as mud, right?
What it means is that the 2011 program must have resulted in a Master's Degree. If that is true, then it meets the requirements.
So I guess I can not apply under CEC. Because it is a post graduate certificate as well as the first one :/ Although it is 2 years of study, I would really hope this could be counted but I guess not.
you would have to gain 2 years of full-time skilled work experience and apply under the Skilled Workers stream. (Note that that requirement may change to only 1 year of experience in January 2013. We don't know if other requirements will also change...)
the only question was, when? Someone posted the info a couple a days ago - Minister Kenney "tweeted" that it will be January 2013.
