Hello All,

Hope you are all doing well.

Last Friday I received my open work permit but CIC made an error on my citizenship so I mailed IMM 1436 to Ottawa and now waiting for the amended version.

Meanwhile, I am searching for jobs now so I am wondering do I have to wait for the amended work permit in order to apply for a SIN? or can I just apply online using the current work permit I have?

You can go ahead and apply for SIN. I think the expiring date of your OWP is what is important to Service Canada.
