My husband is a postdoc fellow on work permit and I am on open work permit in Canada. Recently, I have been offered a postdoc position. My open work permit condition says that:
"Unless authorized, must not attend any educational Institution or take any academic, professional or vocational training course".
Do you think that doing a postdoc would need such authorization from CIC? Can I do my postdoc on my current open work permit or I need to apply for a new permit?
If you have an open WP it should be fine. A postdoc is not a degree but a research job, that's why your husband is doing it under work permit and not a study permit.
