My fiancee and I came to Canada both as a student. Now, we plan to get married here in Canada. Can I, being her husband by then, convert my student visa to Open Work Permit ?

Thank you. But this link contains PGWP. My case is, we are both students at present, we came from the same country. We plan to get married before we finished the 2 year program. My question is, after we get married, how do I change my status from student to open work permit base on her status as a student?
Not sure what you mean about no regulation, as a work permit is required. Being able to apply for an OWP based on a spouse's study permit is nothing new or special.

I did my UG in the US and spouses were not allowed to work under any circumstances which is why I am surprised. Personally, I see it as something that can be abused but maybe it works here
