Can a job contract goes beyond PGWP expiration date if I can extend my PGWP?

I got a 3 years pgwp but they only give me 1 and half year because of my passport expiration date.
My current PGWP will expire on October 8 2024, Now I recently renewed my passport, I can extend my PGWP till 2026 but I still didn't. Can I get a job contract for 1 year even tho only 11 months has left on my current PGWP ?

Sure, you can get a 1 year contract. But you obviously need to get your PGWP extended to work past the expiry date of your current PGWP.
