Can someone clarify this on the Physical Presence Calculator:
My eligibility period is between 2012-Oct-11 to 2017-Oct-11
I became a PR 2014-Mar-30
I'm supposed to list my temporary resident statuses between 2012-Oct-11 and 2014-March-29
I held an open work permit and subsequently a bridge open work permit during the time they have requested I show my temporary resident statuses. Do I list both and set the to and from dates as they are on my permits or do I just list them as one since they're both the same type of temporary resident status and set the to date to the eligibility start date i.e. 2012-Oct-11 and end date to the day before I became PR even though my last permit was still valid for three months after that.
the calculator thing is not working for me, it always says this site can't be reach. pls how did you go about the calculator and what brouser did you use
Whatever is work permit type, we always hold temporary resident status. Incase you have multiple workpermits for continuous period, you should have one entry mentioning type "work" and from/to dates based on start of first work permit to a day before date of landing.
The only issue is I had implied status between the two permits, which again makes it confusing because if I were to write both separately in the calculator, I would have about a month's gap in between even though it is considered legal as per R183(6) to continue to work while under implied status.
If I am to write them based on permits to and from dates and list all, do I then list the implied status as Temporary Resident? I wish the calculator would have made this clearer cause it's really confusing.
I think what I will end up doing:
Simply put the to and from dates to the dates of my eligibility period before becoming PR i.e. Oct-11-2012 to Mar-29-2014 and put it all under Temporary Foreign Worker
Use the form's Question 9C to list all permits and their legitimate dates, and write "Implied Temporary Resident Status As Per R183(6)" in between the two permits and set to and from dates of the implied status
I will attach copies of both permits and attach an addendum to explain this eligibility period prior to becoming PR so there isn't any confusion
Does anyone else have a better idea or know if I'm doing this wrong?
