BWOP- Can you extend it and for how long?

Hi All,

I have a BWOP that will expire in Feb 18. My question is: Can you extend it? If so, for how long?

I was given 1 year BWOP, but worried about the 4 year limit, as I previously had a Postgraduate work permit for 3 years.

In other words, if i had a Postgraduate work permit for 3 years and a BWOP for 1, does that mean I can't extend my BWOP? Do those 3 years don't count towards the 4 year limit? I am worried as the deadline is only 4 weeks away and my PR is still in the works.

4 years limited doesn't apply to PR applicants whose eligibility was approved

Old CC applicants get Eligibility when receive AOR.

My suggestion is to apply ASAP because processing ultime is longer like 3 months so you'll be Implicit Status until get a answer for your new BOWP application

I strongly recommend to double check everything before submit, adding a clear Letter of Explanation, including current WP and CEC AOR

My situation is same as yours i consulted 2 lawyers and they told me that you can apply and will get it ..hopefully we get pr before that

Thanks for your answer. I know. Last time, I went through the application with a tooth comb. The form to apply for BWOP is beyond weird and officers are not the brightest (sigh)

Thanks. I just checked the website and it doesn't seem to have a time limit in terms of years. I hope we get PR soon, but sort of doubt they are going to grant us PR in a month when they still have to sent the medical request. I wish!!

I applied in Sept 2014 and oh man it's been a long road. Best of luck to all of us out there!
