Business Visa Requirement for Manufacturing Engineers

Hi, can anyone here tell me if a business visa (B-1) is required for a Manufacturing Engineer going on routine visits to Canadian suppliers? Or could this be accomplished with an already valid visitor visa (V-1, issued as a tourist)? The business activities will be meetings but also factory audits and quality assurance reviews. Routine supply chain maintenance. Just wondering if a whole new visa application and new visa is necessary. Thanks!
