Hi folks in the house, i would like to ask that as a British Citizen, if i am in Canada on visit and then get married to a protected person( asylum seeker/refugee ) who is currently on a work permit, will i be issed a work permit too?
I await your prompt reply. Thanks
Has their refugee claim been accepted or are they still waiting for a hearing? If they are still a claimant, I doubt you would qualify for a work permit, but not positive.

What do you mean being accepted? Please clarify. Thanks

Have they been accepted as a refugee? No you wouldn’t qualify for a work permit. You could be added to the PR application as a dependent. That is taking around 2 years these days. Have you ever lived with this person for a year?
