Hi everyone,

I am in Canada on my PR status and I want to bring my family to Canada on a TRV to sponsor them inland.
We all know how difficult it is for our spouses to obtain visitor visas due to dual intent.

My wife has a child from previous marriage and we have a child together. Our common child does not need a visa as he is a citizen of the visa exempt country.

What I recommend to my wife is to apply for her visitor visa first and if she's granted one, then get her child apply for his visitor visa and then travel together. I think that if they all apply together, there won't be enough to ties shown to the country.

Then I thought they would all fly here together.

I was wondering if it's a good idea to do that.

They're not fools, no. If the IRCC suspects your wife will move to Canada, she will be denied a TRV.

I will ask differently)

So far my spouse has the following ties to show:

1. 2 jobs - she's a doctor in a Russian hospital (although she's on her maternity leave) and she's also a doctor in a private clinic.
2. A fully owned house ~ $150,000 USD worth (no mortgage)
3. A fully owned car ~ $20,000 USD
4. A son who is 16 y.o. he will be staying home
5. Her 2 parents.

She will be leaving with our common child and her other son who is 10 y.o.
Will taking the 10 y.o. son with her on a trip to Canada significantly decrease their chances of getting a TRV?

Another question if anyone knows; With the ties I described, what do you guys think are the chances of her obtaining a visitor visa?

Are there any things that we should emphasize?

How and when did you get PR? Were you married when you got PR?

I got my PR this year under the FSW Express Entry program and I am currently residing in Canada. I married her way before I even applied for PR. My wife and all children, including her own, were listed as unaccompanying family members.
