Basically i will be bringing over a computer to Toronto/missisauga -- i will be settling into a flat there and will be using my computer purely from my place of residence.
I wont be moving it around. Now my question is should i bring a laptop or a desktop (assuming the weights of both are nearly the same)
If im not moving the computer then i can simply use a cable net internet connection to get online in the case of desktop
In the case of laptop can i also use this cable net connection instead of wifi if im in one loaction and not moving around ?
Is it easier to find a cable net connection in flat buildings as compared to wifi ? -- which is is more expensive ?
In my case does it make sense for me to bring over a robust desktop and put it in one place rather than bring a laptop ?
It'll probably cost you as much in freight to bring your desktop (unless it's high-end) than the cost to ship it. I'd say laptop for that reason mostly.
Definitely bring a laptop instead. You will be able to use it from home, at friends home, at coffee stores, at book stores etc. You can't beat the convenience. And with a laptop, you can always make use of free wi-fi in public spaces (library, malls and the like).
I am taking 2 desktops with monitor, 1 laptop and 2 motherboard/hard drive to put it back together when I land due to limit space..hope I give an idea on what to bring
Just buy a converter for the voltage, the ps3 like all cd players etc have a regional lock on them cause I was planning to buy a ps3 for my brother in India and Best Buy said games bought in India wont work on it.
