Hello everyone,
I have a question that I couldn't find an answer tailored to my situation for in this forum, especially since I heard rumors that some laws are changing. Here's my status in Canada:
- Iranian Citizen
- Permanent resident for 3 years
- Currently unemployed
- Single
My fiancee and I are getting married sometime this year and I wanted to bring her with me to Canada to study. I'm looking for the most time and cost effective way to go about doing this (stress on time before cost). My questions are as follows:
- First I've heard that I don't need an income to sponsor her under spouse and common-law sponsorship program. Can someone confirm that this is still the case?
- Is it better for her to apply to a Canadian university and get a study permit, get married in Iran, come to Canada and then apply for sponsorship inside Canada? (again, stress on time) I've heard that tuition fees will be lowered significantly if she has a PR but if it saves time I'm ok with this.
- Or is it better to get married, apply for sponsorship inside of Iran, so on and so forth?
- Is there another option someone can propose?
Thanks,
Amir
