I am planning for a canadian student visa and when i cross border from US i want to drive with my car. I wanted to know if there is any duty that I will have to pay? will I be importing the car ? what paper work i have to fill out?

No, not unless you study permit is greater than 3 years. If it is 3 years or less, no taxes duty and doesn't have to be imported. http://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/publications/pub/bsf5048-eng.html
