I'm a naturalized Canadian working oversea. My child was born in Korea this Sept , and we are in the process in applying for his Canadian citizenship certificate. According to the Canada embassy in my area, this will normally takes 6months-1 year, What happens if I need to leave my job and move back to Canada with my child during this 1year process time, i need to get him a Canadian limited Validity Passport, right?
Also, how long can he stay in Canada with this passport, and how about his health Care (Ontario)?

Your child can get a 2 year limited passport however once the child reaches age 2, he/she will not be able to get the limited passport. The child would have to get Canadian citizenship certificate first before getting Canadian passport.
He/she can stay as long as he/she wants in Canada. Depending on how old the child in when he/she is in Ontario applying for OHIP, he/she could get immediate OHIP coverage. There is an unwritten rule that I came across while applying for OHIP for my child. If your child is 6 months or younger, Ontario Service may grant immediate OHIP coverage. If the child is more than 6 months old, then the child would likely have to wait 3 months before coverage kicks in.
