Bring your parents to Canada

Hello. We (husband and wife) just received Canadian PR with Express Entry.

How can we sponsor our parents and bring them to Canada with a residency status? How about our siblings?

I would appreciate if you point me to the right direction. Thanks.

All explained on the IRCC website although as new PRs you are looking at being able to to show a minimum of 3 years income in Canada before you can apply. So realistically long term plan when adding in the processing time and whether you manage to secure a slot at the time.

You cannot sponsor siblings whilst your parents are alive so any siblings would need to qualify on their own

If you want your parents in the interim to visit for extended periods then look at the super visa option.

Good point need at least proof of income for one recent year minimum as per eligibility guidelines

Thank you folks. To recap:

• At least 3 years income in Canada to support parents for relocation as residents
• Otherwise, super visa but in that case also you need 1 year living in Canada

You can apply for supervisa less than 1 year after arriving. An NOA seems quite important. All depends on when you get employed as well. Your parents can apply for a TRV if they have their own assets, travel history, ties to their own country, etc. The big takeaway is that your parents are visitors and they can't appear to be moving to Canada with you.
