Hi - my wife is from the US and has applied for PR based on spousal sponsorship (I am a PR), is there some way to get her a temporary work permit while she is waiting on her PR to get approved? I had a Bridging Open Work Permit while I waited for my PR but was a temporary resident with work permit before but she has not held a temp work permit before..
Just to clarify, she has applied for PR from outside of Canada and currently works in the US but would like to start working in Canada and receiving Canadian resident benefits like health care ASAP.

You said she is in the US. She cannot apply for the work permit from outside of Canada. She would need to make a move to Canada first. Then she can apply for the work permit.
