Good afternoon, my work permit will be expired on September 4,2014. Could you please tell me when is the best time to apply for bowp? I m in lmo based close work permit.. So just wonder this bowp is open for everyone? I used to have three years open work permit and then I got two years close lmo based work permit ...

One more question, how long it will take online application? And if I apply four month till my work permit expired, are they gonna hold my application and wait till September or they just gonna give me the new work permit?

I hope you do know that BOWP is for those who have applied for PR and got their AOR.

It is better to apply within the last 4 months of your WP expiry, if it is expiring 30th Sept, apply after June 1st.

The processing time depends on the time of you application, I usually prefer online application as it is usually a bit faster and easier to apply and track.

You will get BOWP after the application is processed and not after your current WP expiry.

Hi thanks for your reply!! I have two application in process under cec and pnp and I got the file number April 5,2013 and February 25, 2014 for PNP.. My work permit expiring on September 4,2014 and if I could it then may 4,2014 would be the four months of my work permit expiring ? So I will be eligible to apply after 4th
May,2014? If I apply now are they going to issue open work permit now ? Or they will hold my application and issue a new work permit after September? Thanks

BOWP will be issued as soon as your application is processed. Apply when you are within four months of expiry of your current valid work permit.

Since your current WP is expiring in Sep, if you apply now, it will not be approved, you will have to apply only within the last 4 months.

First of all, this forum has a search function. If you would've made use of that, you would've found a lot
of information about the bridged open work permit.

However, check here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/bulletins/2013/ob485A.asp
if you are eligible at all.
If you are, you can apply. It takes about 15-20 days for applications submitted online to get approved. And
the work permit is valid from the day it has been issued.

Correct, You will become eligible on May 4th, that is, if you meet the rest of the eligibility criteria.
