A (rather long) query:

When I applied for the original PR in October 2024, I also applied for a bridging open work permit (bowp) at the same time. This first PR application got rejected as an incomplete because of a mistaken police certificate. I reapplied for the EE pool in December 2024 and received an ITA on January 23 this year. However, my current work permit expired on January 22 and I am now under maintained status.

The issue comes when I realised that in submitting the BOWP app, I was supposed to add an AOR letter that I got after submitting the PR application. This info was somewhere else on the CIC website and I missed it.

My BOWP is still in processing, and they haven't said anything. I know they mention on the AOR now that if the PR is rejected as incomplete, they have the right to refuse my BOWP too.

I sent in a web form with a letter of explanation on the mishap and attached the two receipt letters (from the rejected PR and the newly submitted one). I’m now nervous that the BOWP will be refused and I will be out of status, and have to quit my job/ stop working until I restore my status. I don't know what to do.

There's nothing you can do but wait. There's some possibility the BOWP may be approved but also a possibility it may be refused. If it's refused, you will need to stop working and apply to restore your.
