I plan to visit my girlfriend in canada for 3 months.
I will be arriving at Toronto airport, will have about 1500 dollars in cash with me to cover expenses, and will have a return flight ticket. I will be staying with her the whole time, so no hotel costs or anything.

Because i am between jobs in germany at the moment, i am a little afraid of them asking me the "What is your job back home?"-question at immigration. (3 months is long enough of a stay for them to ask this i guess)

What should i answer?
Be 100% truthful and say im unemployed?
Won´t this make them concerned about me maybe wanting to find work in canada?
(Just to clarify: I do NOT want to work in canada, im just concerned they might think that.)

Both me and my girlfriend just want to be absolutely sure nothing goes wrong on the border.
I realize its a 99% chance that there wont be any problem. Its the 1% that concerns me. ;)

If you say you're unemployed they'll ask you how much money you have, and if they don't think that's enough they'll ask what your girlfriend does for work and whether she'll be able to support you. Having a return ticket will definitely help your cause, as will having a place to stay which won't cost you anything.

You say you're between jobs - does this mean you have another job lined up? Do you rent an apartment in Germany or own property? Are your parents there? Do you have a history of being unemployed for long periods or do you usually have a job? Have you stayed at your previous job for a long period of time or do most of your job only last for months at most?

These are the sorts of things they might ask in order to establish that you have ties to your home country and do intend to return there after your three month stay. If that is your genuine intention then any question asked will be answered easily and you have nothing to worry about. Border agents ask questions for a living, and they're pretty good at working out who's lying and who's not.
